Sophia Pieta is an aerospace engineering and mathematics student entering her third year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is involved with her university’s SEDS chapter, where past roles have included the position of Social Director, educational outreach work, and technical experience as part of the structures-recovery team. This summer she will be working at Astra in Alameda, California, as part of the propulsion team. She’s extremely excited to test rocket engines! When she's not actively trying to become a rocket scientist, she's probably out on the lake with her rowing team or FaceTiming her dog.
