Maria Elena Gonzalez is a junior in chemical engineering at Prairie View A&M University. She is passionate about space and community service. She was introduced to space through her work on Team CERO for NASA's Micro-G NExT program. The team was the first to have their design launched and used in space in the program. She is currently on the Strategic Partnerships team for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA). Outside of space, she has been serving a local girls home through an organization called Chicktime for over 7 years.
