Simran Dhoju, born and raised in Nepal, is a sophomore majoring in aerospace engineering and minoring in applied mathematics and mechanical engineering at The University of Alabama. She is the founder of Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics (WoAA) Nepal, a non-profit that supports Nepali women in aerospace. She also leads the solid rocket team of her university as the Project Manager. Her passion for aerospace stemmed from her experience during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. At the age of 15, she dreamt of one day establishing Nepal’s own earth imaging satellite company named Udaan, and has not looked back ever since.
