David Ramirez is an aerospace engineer performing combustion research for the United States Navy. He a first-generation student that recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in aerospace engineering. While attending CSU Long Beach, he performed research as a McNair Scholar in the Solid Propulsion and Combustion Laboratory under Dr. Joseph Kalman. His interest in combustion and its applications in propulsion has lead to his admittance into the mechanical engineering Ph.D. program at The Pennsylvania State University, where he will study under Dr. RIchard Yetter. David was also recently selected as a DoD SMART Fellow which will provide him additional resources to perform cutting-edge research. At PSU, David looks forward to developing next-generation rocket propellants and fuels for use in future space launch vehicles.
During his free time, David enjoys watching space dramas such as The Expanse and For All Mankind. He also enjoys listening to Metal and getting outdoors for camping!
