Jess Alschuler is a junior in aerospace engineering at CU Boulder with a minor in atmospheric and oceanic sciences. She has a primary interest in remote sensing and satellite technologies and currently works for the UC3M robotics lab in Madrid, Spain. She is also the Excavation Team Lead for CU Hyperloop, a student-led organization competing internationally to build a Tunnel Boring Machine. Outside of academics, Jess writes for the CU chapter of Her Campus magazine and has served on the CU Environmental Board. In her free time, she likes to run, climb, watch movies, and bake.

Why is aerospace community outreach and engagement important to you?

Aerospace community outreach and engagement is important to me because the aerospace industry still lacks diversity, which I feel we can change by encouraging students from a young age to consider aerospace engineering and other STEM fields.
