Dr. Raha Hakimdavar works at the intersection of science, policy, and engineering to support space-tech development for a more sustainable, equitable, and inspired future on Earth and in space. She is currently the Director of Space Sciences with the Ball Aerospace Strategic Operations team in DC. Prior to that, she led various efforts to integrate satellite Earth observations into decision-making to address complex environmental challenges, particularly those most impacted by climate change. This included representing the US Government and UN on environmental issues and supporting high-level water and climate negotiations. She served as the acting national program lead for remote sensing research and national hydrologist at the USDA Forest Service, and held a Presidential Management Fellowship appointment with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Earth Science Division. Dr. Hakimdavar serves as a technical consultant for UN Environment and the World Bank in the Caribbean and is an adjunct professor at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service. She earned a B.S. in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University and a M.S. and Ph.D. in hydrology from Columbia University.
