Vera currently holds a Systems Test Engineer position at Lockheed Martin. In 2019, she has completed her Astrophysics BA at the University of Colorado Boulder. Vera is a Class of 2019 Brooke Owens Fellow and is passionate about commercial space programs as well as astronomy outreach. Previously, Vera has completed an internship at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as an Outreach Coordinator and has worked as a Public Presenter at the Fiske Planetarium.

As a first-generation college student and an immigrant, Vera overcame many personal and professional hurdles to get to where she is now. She encourages young people from all backgrounds to pursue their professional development goals and takes great pleasure in being a mentor for the next generation. Vera is involved in other organizations and fellowships, including SGAC and the new Patti Grace Smith Fellowship.

Outside of work, Vera is an avid hiker, coffee-enthusiast, and cat lover.
